Richland Springs School looks forward to welcoming our school community back for the first day of classes on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
Though the 2022-2023 School Year was fraught with many challenges, RSISD staged with an opportunity for a comeback. In Coyote Nation, we empower our school community to rise up and face challenges head on. We believe it is in the struggle where our try character is revealed.
With the 2023-2024 school year upon us, the Richland Springs School Board has put our district in position to improve both academically and extra-curricularly.
This year, Richland Springs ISD will have an opportunity to expand our Career Technology Education Program by adding Culinary Arts to our pathways. Many may think Culinary Arts is Home Economics; however, Culinary Arts is predicated upon leadership and a Food Manager’s Industry-Based Certification that opens up opportunities for our graduates to leave high school with an earning potential of $32,000/year.
Next year, Richland Springs ISD plans on adding the Law Enforcement and Health and Human Services Pathways because quality first responders are needed in all communities.
This year, Richland Springs ISD will be working to add Bar-B-Q Competition to the list of our spring competitions.
Next year, Richland Springs will develop a new robotics team to compete in UIL competitions.
This year, Richland Springs ISD will add Softball to our extra-curricular program as well. Our girls will take the field this spring at the Richland Springs Youth Baseball Field that has been renovated to support a varsity program.
Since the beginning of the 21.22 School Year, Richland Springs ISD has made school history on many fronts, and we work diligently to continue our growth. During the 21.22 SY, our girls’ Basketball Program made it to the state qualifying round of the regional tournament, our OAP cast earned a trip to state, we began a vast facilities renovation that has resulted in the renovation our iconic gymnasium and complete renovation of the high school. RSISD has also completed an overhaul of instructional technology program resulting in a one-to-one device ratio, updated switches and servers, and staff computer upgrades. As we begin the new school year, Richland Springs School is as technologically sound as any district in the Region 15 ESC service area.
Richland Springs School is able to speak of such accomplishments because of our outstanding community of stakeholders that include our faculty/staff, students, parents, and community members. We are a Community of Champions because our school culture is predicated upon providing a safe environment that ensures each student has the opportunity to meet his or her maximum academic and extra-curricular potential.
